Bill was wearing his socks in this colorway recently and they made me very jealous, so I need to dye yarn for myself, and thought you might be interested in this throwback yarn too! This yarn was first dyed in 2020. The International Festival of Owls is celebrated during the first weekend of March each year.
Thick and thin stripes of Barn Owl (tan), Great Horned Owl (near black), Screech Owl, Saw-whet Owl, Greater Sooty Owl (gray), and Snowy Owl (undyed, white).
The default mini for this colorway is Sooty Owl (gray), but I'm glad to dye any of the colors in the stripe yarn - just let me know which you'd like by leaving a comment at checkout
Full Semi-Solid skeins are available in any of the above colors. Please leave a note in your cart as to which one(s) you'd like! This is a preorder, available through March 20. All yarn will be dyed and shipped by April 10.
Our most popular base is Yarny McYarnface - it is a thicker fingering weight, soft, and a little fuzzy. It is very hard-wearing and a great alternative to merino. We also offer the standard merino/nylon blend that is loved by many knitters of indie-dyed yarn. Our other bases are all excellent choices if you're looking for something a little different (tencel is a natural nylon that is very cooling to the touch) or a bit luxurious (like BFL or Cashmere!)
